Ancient Greece’s most prominent legacy up to date is certainly its vast mythological circle. Aside from its rich history, legends and fables were the foundation of the entire civilization. Walking through Athens’ center gives us an opportunity to explore the stories that bound and explained the world according to the ancient ancestors next to ruins and nature in the very heart of Athens. This is Greek Mythology.

ITINERARY

  • The tour will commence in front of the entrance to the Kerameikos Archaeological Site and Museum, where we’ll learn more about the creation of the world, as known as the Genesis, the great wars and the … rather strange conditions under the gods’ birth.
  • Then we will make our way to the infamous area of Thiseio, where the Temple of Hephaestus stands. The narration will focus on the main gods and goddesses of the mountain Olympus. The main protagonists will follow us through the entire tour across the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street with several spots along the way that will spark opportunities for storytelling.
  • On the way uphill, we will stop at the majestic National Observatory of Athens to watch the view and discover more about the connections between the ancient religion and science.
  • Our stroll will continue to the Filopappos Hill, home to multiple monuments of interest and a wonderful and refreshing park within the heart of Athens with the most mesmerizing view of the Acropolis.
  • The tour will conclude with the legends most beloved to the Ancient Greeks: the Labors of Hercules and the Homeric Epics.
